Monday June 30
LONDON: If you like your modern clowning, Furiozo – the alter-ego of Poland's Piotr Sikora – is a fine example: an intense performance of a compelling gangster character, moulded by audience interaction and not half as scary as you might think. The fun side of toxic masculinity is at Soho Theatre all week.
Tuesday July 1
OXFORD: You'll find Edinburgh previous across the country this month, often packaged into local comedy festivals. Oxford's lasts all month with a couple of shows a night across the Old Fire Station, Tap Social Movement and Trinity College bar. Website.
Wednesday July 2
HARROGATE: There's a strong line-up at Sitting Room Comedy Club at The Empress with cynical Jo Caulfield, frenetic idiot savant Tom Little, circuit veteran Mike Newall and the night's promoter and regular MC, Tom Taylor. The same line-up is at the The Winning Post, York, tomorrow but with Newall swapped out for Phil Chapman.
Thursday July 3
LONDON: Chortle's Fast Fringe offers a head-spinning line-up of comedy and variety acts heading to Edinburgh next month in a manic, and hugely entertaining, showcase. LONDON: For the first time since 2007, legends of the New York cabaret scene, Kiki & Herb return to London with their signature mix of storytelling and wild musical medleys. They're at the Soho Theatre Walthamstow for three nights.
BRIGHTON: The Comedy Garden puts up its Marquee in Preston Park once more, opening tonight with Ed Gamble, Fatiha El-Ghorri, John Robins, Lara Ricote, Rosie Jones. Others passing by this week include Bridget Christie, Alan Davies, Jamali Maddix and Frankie Boyle – but really you can't go wrong with any of their impressive mixed bill. LONDON: Stewart Lee's at the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank this weekend and next with his take on the angry anti-woke comedians being cancelled by liberal elites, left only with their Netflix deals, massively lucrative podcasts and international tours to fall back on. Read our original review of Stewart Lee vs The Man-Wulf here.
LONDON: The Union Chapel line-up gigs have probably never had a weak bill, and tonight is no exception with QI's Alan Davies, over-sharing livewire Amy Gledhill, and wryly self-deprecating Rhys James.
NEWCASTLE: A new comedy club launches tonight at the nightclub Digital on Times Square. Opening night features Nabil Abdulrashid, Esther Manito, Dean Coughlin and Si Beckwith.
WOLVERHAMPTON: Just the Tonic Comedy Club swoops into Wolverhampton Wanderers' Molineux Stadium – well the event space, anyway – for a gig headlined by pun maestro Gary Delaney, with Susan Murray, Andrea Hubert and Eddy Brimson in support.
