AMERICAN comic Hannibal Buress is to perform a one-off stand-up show in London. The stand-up starred in his own own weekly TV series, Why? With Hannibal Buress on Comedy Central, and will appear in the upcoming films Band of Robbers and Daddy's Home, the latter alongside Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. And famously his comments about Bill Cosby prompted the spate of fresh allegations agains the comedian. Burgess will be performing at The Forum in Kentish Town on October 13, with tickets on sale now.

MARK THOMAS has led a lie-down demonstration in Chester's Town Hall Square in protest at plans to introduce a Public Space Protection Order which he says will criminalise the vulnerable including rough sleepers. The move will make it illegal to sleep on the street, with a £100 on-the-spot fine. He was wearing pyjamas and clutching a hot water bottle at the site.

COMEDIAN Toby Foster has been shortlisted for best breakfast show on the BBC, for his Radio Sheffield programme. Winners of the Gillard Awards will be announced on November 4.

A LIST of London's 1,000 most influential people compiled by the capital's Evening Standard newspaper includes John Kearns, Luisa Omielan, Bridget Christie, Jack Whitehall, Jessica Hynes, Harry Enfield, Tracey Ullman, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade, Sara Pascoe, Charlie Brooker, Michael McIntyre, Sharon Horgan, Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Rob Brydon, Nick Helm, Miles Jupp, Josh Widdicombe, Reeves and Moritmer, Armando Iannucci, Ian Hislop, Al Murray and Lenny Henry. Some of the inclusions have spurious links with London – including Sarah Millican, a Geordie who lives in Manchester, and Veep star Julia Louis-Drefus, who apparently makes the list based on the fact one episode of the US sitcom was set in London.
