DEAD RINGERS: Written on the day, Radio 4’s impressionist show returns with its own election special, taking in the results which emerged just hours earlier. Starring Jon Culshaw, Jan Ravens, Lewis McLeod, Duncan Wisbey and Deborah Stephenson and written by a sleep-deprived  Tom Jamieson & Nev Fountain, Laurence Howarth, Sarah Campbell, Ed Amsden & Tom Coles, James Bugg, Max Davis, Sara Gibbs, Simon Alcock and Alex Hardy.  Radio 4, 6.30pm

HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU: Another election special, this one hosted by Alexander Armstrong and featuring Jon Richardson as a panellist. Although the show is usually taped on a Thursday night, this week’s will also be recorded on the day to incorporate the result. BBC One, 9.30pm

THE LAST LEG ELECTION SPECIAL: Still in need of some post-ballot satire? Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker  offer their take on the results. Channel 4, 10pm And it’s followed by...

 ADAM HILLS: TAKE HIS LEGS: In which Hills tires to live out his boyhood dream to play competitive rugby league. Hills is a die-hard fan of the sport and the driving force behind the first Physical Disability Rugby League team in the UK,  the Warrington Wolves. In the documentary Hills and his team-mates head to Sydney for the biggest game of their lives. The film also deals with mental health, PTSD, and the impact of sport on the emotional well-being of a team. Channel 4, 11.30pm 

Saturday December 14

DIAL M FOR MIDDLESBROUGH:  Following the successful Agatha Christie-inspired whodunits Murder on the Blackpool Express and Death on the Tyne, Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson return with another killer group of comedy names in the latest Draper’s Tours mystery, once again written by stand-up Jason Cook. Terry (Vegas) and Gemma (Gibson) are forced to take refuge in a sinister and dilapidated caravan park after their coach breaks down. During the unplanned stay, visitors and residents begin to be bumped off one by one under grizzly circumstances. The all-star cast includes Sally Lindsay, Phil Davis, Mike Wozniak, Joanna Page, Jason Donovan and Annette Crosbie. Read more about it here. Gold, 9.15pm

The duo's last stage appearance, filmed at Bristol's Slapstick comedy festival in 2019, is being streamed. It was the pair's first stage appearance for decades, and they talk about their career heyday as well as Large's health problems. He died earlier this year, aged 78, after contracting coronavirus.
