Matt Forde

Matt Forde began his comedy career in 1998 at the age of 16, performing at gigs in his hometown of Nottingham while working for the East Midlands Labour Party. With his political views forming the backbone to his stand-up, Forde debuted his hour-long show, Dishonourable Member, at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe.

He is the creator and host of the live show and podcast The Political Party, which has featured interviews with prominent political figures including Tony Blair, Keir Starmer, Nicola Sturgeon and Jacob Rees-Mogg. The podcast has accumulated over 11million downloads and has received nominations from the British Podcast Awards and Chortle Awards.

Forde wrote and voiced characters for the revival of Spitting Image on BritBox and ITV, providing impressions of figures such as Boris Johnson, Keir Starmer and Donald Trump.

He hosted four series of the TV show Unspun with Matt Forde on Dave and his other television appearances include Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week, and The Royal Variety Performance. Forde also presents Absolute Radio’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Football Show and co-hosts the podcast British Scandal.

In 2023, Forde underwent surgery for bone cancer but returned to performing and broadcasting in 2024.
