New panel show for Sky

Jason Manford is set to host a new panel show for Sky1, with Johnny Vegas as a team captain.

You And Whose Army? – made by 8 out of 10 Cats producers Zeppotron – involves two teams indulging in ‘outrageous and ridiculous challenges’.

The twist is the teams are picked by the captains, from their friends and showbiz mates.

Sky says: ‘It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.’

‘Some of the battles will be mental challenges (quizzes or bizarre memory feats), some will be physical (heavyweight boxing, target parachuting or completing an obstacle course set in a wind tunnel) and some will be neither (a nationwide hunt for the best celebrity lookalike).

Gabby Logan will be the other team captain at the first episode, being recorded in Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire, tonight.

It is the third panel-show she is involved with. She is a team captain in BBC One’s forthcoming primetime show, I Love My Country and in a pilot of a new ITV topical show, Good News, Bad News. Manford is also hosting that show, which might lead to suggestions TV producers are only drawing from a small pool of talent when it comes to casting such shows.
