Tramadol Nights is 'worst TV comedy'

Viewers' 'accolade' for Frankie Boyle

Frankie Boyle’s Tramadol Nights has been named the worst comedy of last year.

The controversial Channel 4 show was also named worst TV sketch show in the awards, as decided by visitors to comedy.co.uk.

Other shows slated in the poll were: Coming Of Age (worst returning sitcom), Celebrtity Juice (worst panels show), James Corden's World Cup Live (worst entertainment show), Shameless (worst comedy drama) and Trinny & Susannah: From Boom To Bust (worst sitcom).

However, there was good news for Miranda, which was named best TV comedy, narrowly beating Peep Show and the Inbetweeners.

David Mitchell and Robert Webb didn’t miss out on the accolades though, as Peep Show was named best returning sitcom, while That Mitchell And Webb Look won the sketch show category.

QI was named best panel show for the fourth time, while Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon’s show The Trip was named best new sitcom. Charlie Brooker’s Newswipe and Screenwipe shows collectively won the entertainment award, while Misfits won best comedy-drama.

In radio categories, Another Case Of Milton Jones was named best sitcom; Sarah Millican's Support Group was best sketch show and I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue was named best panel show. The entertainment accolade went to Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders for their Christmas Radio 2 shows.

The online awards come ahead of the British Comedy Awards – whose nominees are announced tonight before the ceremony next week – and the Chortle Awards, which are announced on February 7.
