Still Game star Ford Kiernan was the big winner at the first Scottish Podcast Awards, with his Ford & Shelby Show taking top prize

The comic hosts the podcast with Shelby May, and the pair were named winners of podcast of the year from more than 400 entries, as well as taking the comedy prize.

Accepting the award, Kiernan praised his co-host, pictured with him above, calling her the 'find of the century'.

The football podcast Open Goal, hosted by former professional footballers Si Ferry, Paul Slane and Andy Halliday, also picked up two awards on the night. It won the Spotify listeners' choice award, voted for by the public, and was also named Scotland's best football podcast.

The ceremony was held at Glasgow's Old Fruitmarket, as his show, hosted  by broadcaster Kaye Adams and comedian Marc Jennings, who also co-hosts the Some Laugh podcast with Stephen Buchanan.

Corrinne Gardiner, one of the organisers said: 'What an unbelievable night. We are immensely proud to have pulled this off, and it is safe to say this will not be the last Scottish Podcast Awards.

'The quality and variety across more than 400 entries was incredible. The awards demonstrated the talent already working in Scottish podcasting and the enormous enthusiasm surrounding the sector.’
