Rape and sex offence case won't be heard until October 2027
Hardeep Singh Kohli is to stand trial on charges of repeatedly raping a woman as well as sex offences against four others.
But the has not been scheduled to come before a jury until October 1 2027.
Kohli denied a total of 20 charges at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday. The accusations cover the period January 2006 to June 2021, and include five separate rape charges involving one of the women.
The comedian and TV presenter separately faces four sexual assault charges involving the same woman and abusive behaviour towards her over a two-year period. It is also alleged he ‘coerced’ her into giving him money, and communicating indecently with her.
Charges also alleged that Kohli indecently assaulted another woman at the BBC Scotland studios in Glasgow as well as in the Radisson Hotel in the city's Argyle Street; plus a sexually-related breach of the peace at a restaurant.
He is also accused of indecently assaulting and carrying out a sex act in front of a third woman at a hotel in Dumfries and Galloway; and repeatedly sexually assaulting a fourth at the University of Edinburgh.
Kohli faces the same offence against the final woman in Glasgow’s Yes Bar, in December 2016, as well as being threatening and abusive towards her.
He was not present at the hearing but defence advocate Sarah Livingstone pled not guilty on his behalf, lodging a special defence of consent for a number of the charges.
