Confirmed: Which comedians are in Celebrity Traitors S2
James Acaster among those taking part
Comics James Acaster, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Miranda Hart, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan are to be in the next series of The Celebrity Traitors.
The BBC has confirmed the 21 famous faces in line-up as filming gets under way in the Scottish Highlands.
Also taking part are presenter Amol Rajan, actor Bella Ramsey, singer James Blunt, model Jerry Hall, actor Julie Hesmondhalgh, content creator King Kenny, singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, presenter Maya Jama, actor and soon-to-be House Of Games host Michael Sheen, actor Myha’la, mathematician Professor Hannah Fry, actor Richard E. Grant, actor Ross Kemp, musician Sebastian Croft and actor Sharon Rooney.
The line-up offers some tantalising possibilities for betrayal – especially if long-term pals Beckett and Ranganathan are pitched against each other.
Acaster’s involvement was reported last month, but other names said to be in the frame – including Daisy May Cooper, Liam Gallagher, Cheryl, Carol Kirkwood, Hugh Grant, Danny Dyer and Alison Hammond – have all proved wide of the mark.
Here's how the BBC revealed the names:
Series one of The Celebrity Traitors debuted on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in October and has been a huge hit with an average audience of 14.9million across the run with a peak of 15.4million, watching Alan Carr win the finale. Other comedy names in series one included Nick Mohammed, Lucy Beaumont, Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross.
Carr is now making a Disney+ programme about buying a Scottish retreat of his own, Ayton Castle.
Meanwhile ,the fourth series of The Traitors, which aired in January, achieved a 12.5million 28-day average, up 22 per cent on Series Three
Claudia Winkleman will return as host of The Celebrity Traitors, which will run for ten hour-long episodes, produced by Studio Lambert Scotland.
