
James Acaster to make his movie debut
Cast in Cinderella alongside Romesh Ranganathan and James Corden
James Acaster is to make his movie debut in a new musical take on Cinderella.
The comic will play one of the mice footmen alongside Romesh Ranganathan and James Corden, whose company Fullwell 73 is producing the film for Sony
American comic John Mulaney was originally announced to complete the trio, but has been replaced by Acaster, Mulaney reportedly spent the first two months of this year in rehab for cocaine and alcohol abuse.
Rapper and comedian Doc Brown -aka Ben Bailey Smith – also joined the cast as the town crier, a role that had once been linked with Missy Elliot.
The new version – which was filmed in Blackpool – is set to be released on Amazon Prime on September 3 with Camila Cabello, who shot to fame through X Factor USA, in the title role, above. Billy Porter, Minnie Driver and Pierce Brosnan also appear.
Amazon released a teaser video last week, without showing the comics’ characters.
