Roundhouse  Comedy Festival announces its line-up

Including Frank Skinner, Kristen Schaal, Sam Campbell and Joe Lycett

The line-up has been announced for the Roundhouse  Comedy Festival, which is returning to the  Camden venue three years after its debut.

The festival  opens on August 1 – with a night headlined by Frank Skinner, alongside Phil Wang, Rosie Jones, Celya AB and Saturday Night Live UK’s Paddy Young  – and runs until the 18th.

Other headliners include Joe Lycett, Katherine Ryan, Ed Gamble, Sara Pascoe and Sam Campbell.

American comedian Kristen Schaal, best known as the voice of Louise in Bob's Burgers, will perform her comedy play The Legend Of The Crystal Shell in a one-night-only London appearance. Jack Rooke, who wrote the series Big Boys, will revisit his early stage show Good Grief a decade after it first appeared.

The festival also features live podcast recordings from Adam Buxton, whose guest will be comedian and performer Mawaan Rizwan, and Alexei Sayle, who will be joined by Diane Morgan. Further stand-up bills are hosted by Amy Gledhill and feature performers including Fern Brady, Judi Love, Jamali Maddix and Nina Conti.

US comedy streaming service Dropout will bring live versions of three of its shows — Dirty Laundry, Um, Actually and Crowd Control — to the UK for the first time. The service grew out of the comedy website College Humor.

The festival is programmed by Berk’s Nest whose managing director Owen Donovan, said: ‘2023’s festival was an amazing first festival and I can’t wait for this bigger, busier, even more brilliant line-up to come to London for a huge summer of comedy.’

The full listings are here and tickets go on general sale on April 24.
