Comedy events around the UK this autumn

Several comedy festival across the UK and Ireland have firmed up their line-ups for this autumn.

Here are some of the key events:

LONDON: Greenwich Comedy Festival returns to the National Maritime Museum from September 13 to 17. Highlights include Dylan Moran, Dara O'Briain, Alan Davies, Adam Hills, Ed Byrne, Joe Lycett and more. Website.

LONDON: The Objectively Funny Festival will feature 42 shows from September 16 to the 26 at The Albany on Great Portland Street. Headliners include Phil Kay, Joseph Morpurgo, Tez Ilyas Tiff Stevenson, Jordan Brookes and Elf Lyons. Full line-up is here.

BELFAST: The Belfast Comedy Festival returns for a sixth year from October 2 to 8, with local acts appearing alongside visitors such as John Bishop, doing a work-in-progress for his forthcoming arena tour, Henning Wehn, Joel Dommett, Bec Hill and Fern Brady. Details.

ABERDEEN: The 11-day Aberdeen Comedy Festival kicks off on October 5, with 50 comedy shows from local, national and international acts. The line-up includes Fred MacAulay, Britain's Got Talent comic Daliso Chaponda, Justin Moorhouse, Gary Delaney, and Andrew Maxwell. Details.

WINCHESTER: With 17 shows over 4 days, The Winchester festival welcomes acts such as Gary Delaney, Paul Sinha, and food critic Jay Rayner in its 17 shows over four days, kicking off on October 5. A full list of events are on the festival website.

BIRMINGHAM: Greg Davies and Matt Lucas headline this year's Birmingham Comedy Festival. The 10-day event, kicking off on October 6, features 80 shows – from local heroes like Joe Lycett and Barbara Nice to international stars such as Impractical Jokers. Details

GALWAY: Dara O Briain, Kevin Bridges, Tommy Tiernan were announced as part of Galway's annual comedy festival earlier this month. The 75 shows for the week-long Vodafone Comedy Carnival, which kicks off on October 24, also include Rich Hall, Foil Arms & Hog, David O'Doherty, Rubberbandits, Jimeoin and Ardal O'Hanlon. Website.
