Flat Earth Nation features two male comedians chatting

Comedians Dom McGovern and Dan Wye are launching a podcast, Flat Earth Nation, in which the pair ‘pick apart whatever nonsense has caught their attention that week’.

The weekly video and audio podcast launches tomorrow.

McGovern is a stand-up who was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for best newcomer this year for Prize Hog, while Wye performs as the comedy cabaret act Séayoncé.

Conversations range from picking apart a pop culture conspiracy theory to Wye’s family’s supposed magic skills — he says his grandfather can cure thrush.

McGovern says: ‘You’ve had podcasts from two annoying male comedians giving lukewarm takes and talking complete nonsense that only makes sense to a few people. This podcast is different. It’s worse. One of the hosts is nonbinary, and the other is a gay guy. Turn down the volume, we’re about to start screaming.’

Wye added: ‘You’ve heard of gay, you’ve heard of mental illness, but have you heard of podcast? It’s time to open up the pigpen and feed you piggies the slop you’ve been oinking for. 

‘While the world is ablaze, let’s finally answer the question famous philosophers have pondered for centuries: if two of the funniest gays in their respective friendship groups spoke into a microphone every week, would their dads finally care?’
