Happy Ewe-ltide! Sketch trio Sheeps to release a Christmas album
Featuring a host of big comedy names
Sketch group Sheeps have recorded a Christmas album, with the aid of several of their big-name comedy friends.
Ghosts stars Lolly Adefope and Charlotte Ritchie, State Lets Flats creator Jamie Demetriou and Starstruck’s Rose Matafeo and Emma Sidi are among those singing on A Very Sheeps Christmas.
The 20 tracks also feature further vocals from stand-up Amy Annette, with Kieran Hodgson on violin, and John Tothill on clarinet. Katy Wix appears on the cover blowing into a violin, but not on the album itself.
Daran Jonno Johnson and Al Roberts – who form Sheeps with Liam Williams – are the main songwriters and lead vocalists.
Johnson says: ‘It isn’t clear why we’ve been allowed to do this. Or why so many people so generously joined in on the joke. But, however we got here, it’s weirdly one of the things I’m proudest of us ever doing. Hope everybody likes it. Hope everybody has a Happy Breakfast!’
Roberts adds: ‘This is a weird one, definitely, but, I don’t know, I think it could be kind of amazing? I love the songs. Jonno’s done such a great job.’
Producers Country Mile and Blink Industries say: ‘’Expect gorgeous melodies, low-in-the-mix-sleigh-bells, and lots of songs about Santa.’
The first track, My Baby Looks A Lot Like Santa Claus, is My available to download and stream now via Spotify or Apple Music. Other songs will include include Goodman Jizz and (I Just Wanna Go On My Phone) This Christmas.
The album has been ten months in the making, and will be released on December 6, on a limited edition vinyl, as well as downloading and streaming, all available to pre-order here.
The trip will launch the album with live shows at East London’s Moth Club in December, which go on sale on Friday.
