Learn how to apply for an Arts Council grant

Advice session just for the comedy industry

Arts Council England are running a workshop dedicated to people working in live comedy.

The genre has traditionally been overlooked by the funding body, which as been reluctant to acknowledge comedy as a valid, separate art form.

However they are now running the free session for those wanting to apply for National Lottery Project Grants or Developing Your Creative Practice grants.

Those attending will learn how the programmes work, what assessors are looking for, and how to frame a compelling application. There will also be time to ask questions directly to Arts Council England staff.

The session takes place  online on May 28, and further information is here.

It follows requests from the Live Comedy Association and fellow industry group Craft for the funding body to be more open to applications from the comedy sector.
