Bottom guide released as an audiobook

Read by the sitcom's, barman, Lee Cornes

Lee Cornes – who played pub landlord Dick Head in Bottom – has recorded an audiobook guide to the Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson sitcom.

Previously available in printed form, Talking Bottom is available from today on Audible and Spotify.

Written by Paul Tanter, Angela Pearson and Mat Brooks – who also host a podcast of the same name – the book includes draft script excerpts and interviews with members of the cast and crew

In a statement, the trio said: 'Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson shaped our funny bones with their frying pan wielding cartoon violence. After Rik sadly died far too young, we started the Talking Bottom podcast to celebrate their hilarious double act.

‘We wrote the book for fellow comedy fans and we are beyond thrilled that the dulcet tones of Lee Cornes, our favourite scheming pub landlord Dick Head, will be entering everyone's lugholes.’

Cornes began performing stand-up in 1980 and was among the first comedians to appear at the Comedy Store in London, later becoming a regular compere there.

News of the audiobook comes on the day Sky Documentary airs a new film about Mayall, Magnificent B’stard. Read our review here.
