Five-day event returns to the National Maritime Museum

The Greenwich Comedy Festival has announced its return to the grounds of the historic National Maritime Museum in South London.

Headlining the open-air gigs over five days in September are Stewart Lee, Frankie BoyleDylan Moran, Alan Davies, Milton Jones, David O’Doherty and Simon Amstell.

Also on the line-up are Sindhu Vee, Rosie Jones, Sophie Duker, Kerry Godliman, Jamali Maddix, Tim Key and more.

The festival is produced by siblings Will Briggs and Cass Randolph the children of comic and promoter Malcolm Hardee, who were raised in Greenwich. Their company has gone to produce festivals in other cities including Bristol and Brighton.

Randolph said: ‘Everything started for us in Greenwich. We launched this festival fourteen years ago and have since branched out to other locations across the UK, but Greenwich will always be our home.’

This year’s event runs from September 14 to 18 is sponsored by Heycar, whose chief commercial officer Karen Hilton said: ‘The line-up is truly world-class, and we’re particularly looking forward to seeing Sindhu Vee in action.’
