The shortlists have been announced for this year’s Chortle Awards supported by Ticketmaster. with big names including Alan Carr, Dara O Briain, Stewart Lee and Lou Sanders among the nominees.
Amy Gledhill leads the field with three nods: for best compere, best radio comedy as part of Icklewick FM with Chris Cantrill and best podcast for Single Ladies In Your Area, which she hosts with Harriet Kemsley.
A number of comedians have two nominations:
Nick Mohammed - best tour and TV comic
Michelle de Swarte – best tour and breakthrough act
Sam Nicoresti - best show and breakthrough act
Luke McQueen - best show and breakthrough act
Ada & Bron - best newcomer and sketch variety and improv act.
Gbemi Oladipo - best headliner and best MC with Andrew Mensah
Harriet Kemsley – TV comic and best podcast
Chortle has also unveiled a new category for clowning and alternative comedy with nominees Gutte. Jessica Barton, Johnny White Really-Really, Rosa Garland, and Sami Abu-Wardeh.
Shortlists were drawn up by a panel of industry experts, with the winners now chosen by public vote using the form below The polls close at 23:59 on March 1, with the winners unveiled at a ceremony at the Comedy Store in London on March 17.
