Romesh Ranganathan was nominated for best show at the 2014 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards, a year after being shortlisted for best newcomer. He was also nominated for the breakthrough award in the 2014 Chortle Awards.

Earlier in his career he was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny 2010 and winner of Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year 2013.

Romesh rang up a £2million gain

He’s one of the hardest-working people in comedy – and it’s paying off for Romesh Ranganathan.

The comic made more than £2million last year, according to accounts newly filed at Companies House.

His company Vetty Limited saw its capital reserves grow from £2.5million to £4.6million in the 12 months to June last last year. 

The comic and his wife Leesa are the directors of the company. He is also a director of production company Ranga Bee with producer Ben Green, which has £469,000 in reserves, according to its latest accounts.

Over the year covered by the figures Ranganathan’s TV credits included The Weakest Link, Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening, Can’t Knock The Hustle and Rob and Romesh Vs as well as his Radio 2 show. It also containe the last dates of his Hustle tour.

The comic will be back on the road later this year with his new stand-up show Romesh Ranganathan Will Change Your Life. Dates.

* Sarah Millican has more than doubled her fortune on the back of her Late Bloomer world tour, with assets in her company SM Comedy Ltd rising £2.8million to £4.9million. The show streams on Channel 4 from Sunday.
