In Aliens Love Underpants animation

Matt Lucas, Ashley Jensen and Romesh Ranganathan are to lend their voices to an animated special based on the Aliens Love Underpants books.

Sky One is making a one-off programme based on the Aliens Love Panta Claus story, written by Claire Freedman and illustrated by Ben Cort.

Lucas will be playing Santa Claus and Extras star Jensen his wife.  Ranganathan will voice an alien, as will Gavin and Stacey’s Joanna Page, The Wrong Mans’ Mathew Baynton and more to be announced.

 The book is being adapted by stand-up Henry Paker, whose writing credits include Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Josh.

A series of 12 two-minute shorts based on the same characters, Aliens Love Underpants AND…, launched on the Sky Kids app last year.

Lucy Murphy, head of Sky Kids said: ‘This is a joyously silly story with such lovable characters and we know the whole family will love it – and won’t be able to stop singing along.’

The half-hour special, made by Tiger Aspect, will air on Sky One this Christmas.
