Netflix teases its first improvised specials

With Ben Schwartz and Thomas Middleditch

Netflix has released the trailer for its first improvised comedy specials.

Ben Schwartz and Thomas Middleditch’s recorded three shows for the streaming service in New York, all of which are long-form stories spawned entirely from an audience suggestion.

Schwartz is best known for playing Jean Ralphio in NBC’s Parks and Recreations, while Middleditch plays fRichard Hendricks on HBO’s comedy Silicon Valley.

The first revolves around a man heading for an important job interview, the second is about first year law students who encounter an alien, contemplates child abandonment, and dabbles in a bit of magic, and the third imagines a parking lot wedding.

The specials land on April 21.

LA PRINCESA DE WOKING

Emma Sidi has taken great care to replicate the authentic feel of 1980s Spanish-language telenovelas in this spot-on parody, set in contemporary small-town England and which she describes as 'a bit Acorn Antiques, bit Garth Marenghi'.

At her mother's untimely funeral, Becky Hello (a typical British millennial as imagined by Mexican writers who have never been to the UK) discovers she has inherited a fortune. But it isn't long before nefarious family members begin to circle, and Becky must keep her wits about her if she is to avoid the same fate as her mother.
