Sir Patrick Stewart at Just For Laughs
...where he delivered his own eulogy
Just For Laughs have released the gala show Sir Patrick Stewart hosted at their Montreal comedy festival to honour the actor's phenomenal career, following his death at 86.
The Star Trek and X-Men star footed the televised show in 2015, introducing comedians Sebastian Maniscalco, Gina Yashere, Russell Howard, Jim Breuer and Pete Zedlacher.
Sir Patrick bookends the show – and even gave his own eulogy (at the 38 minute 30 second mark) as 'the greatest actor ever, a husband and a father and a friend.'
He then joked: 'But most of all he was an objectophile who achieved sexual congress with literally thousands of inanimate objects.'
He continued: 'As a boy, Sir Patrick entertained his classmates at Mirfield Secondary Modern School where he dutifully honed his craft as an actor, developing his now signature baritone voice and made sweet, secret lunch hour love to the janitor’s floor polishing machine.'
Stewart went on to recount his time with the Manchester Library Theatre and as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, noting that after hours he would sneaking into 'the props department after hours to pleasure himself with a wide variety of books, wigs, bicycles, and cafeteria trays.'
'Sir Patrick Stewart, you will be missed,' the actor concluded. 'Godspeed.'
