Comic's agony after film producers' cast the WRONG Sean McLoughlin

comedyComedian Sean McLoughlin has received a metaphorical ‘kick in the balls’ after being dumped from his movie debut just days before filming – after producers realised they’d booked the wrong man.

The makers of the teenage sex comedy had intended to book the stand-up’s namesake, a 28-year-old YouTuber who goes by the name of Jacksepticeye online.

What’s worse, the error was only realised when McLoughlin’s agent double-checked the booking.

Writing on Twitter, McLoughlin revealed: ‘Was offered a role in a feature film. A teenage sex comedy set in a tech firm. Silly money. First class flights and "extensive wining and dining".

‘At the 11th hour we double checked that they knew I wasn't the YouTube gamer who is my namesake. Just received the following email [addressed to his agent]:

"My deepest apologies but you are correct. I have somehow pursued the wrong Sean McLoughlin. Please extend my apologies for Sean as well for the mistake. I hope this has not inconvenienced you too much…"

‘The shoot was to begin NEXT WEEK. What a remarkable kick in the balls God has bestowed upon me.’

The stand-up has joked about not being the world’s most famous Sean McLoughlin in his shows, complaining that he’s overshadowed by the Irish social media star who’s channel, primarily offering comic commentary on video games, has more than 10 billion views and 20.5 million subscribers.

His fellow comics were quick to joke about the incident.

And many of his followers said – as if he needed reminding – that it had been a huge error to double-check before flying out to the shoot.

McLoughlin plays up the lack of career success in his acclaimed solo shows, but he has supported the likes of Ricky Gervais, Bill Burr, Doug Stanhope and Katherine Ryan on tour.
