New podcast for Alistair Green and Rachel Stubbings
From Elis James and John Robins' production company
Comedians Alistair Green and Rachel Stubbings are launching a weekly podcast together, described by its hosts as 'aimless and often quite toxic chat from two grown adults who should know better'.
Don't Think So Somehow will be the first weekly podcast for both comedians. Green has built a large following through short comedy sketches on social media, while Stubbings is known for her stand-up and acting work.
The two are longtime friends, and the show – which launches on June 16 – is billed as the pair shining 'an unnecessary light on a questionable friendship'.
Stubbings said: 'Mine and Alistair's friendship has always hung by a fucking thread. I don't know if it can withstand doing a podcast together every week. Yet here we bravely go.'
The show will be released through Significant Productions, the company set up by Elis James, John Robins and producer Dave Masterman. It marks the first time the network has launched a show not fronted by James or Robins themselves.
Significant is also adding a second podcast to its roster: Skinwigs, hosted by Ash Tyson and Sam O'Leary, which returned for a new series earlier this month. The company will distribute the show through a commercial partnership with fellow independent production company Audio Always.
O'Leary said of joining the network: 'Elis and John have promised us wealth beyond our wildest dreams even if they have to do something illegal and unforgivable. As soon as me and Ash heard that, we thought "Yep".'
