NextUp launches on Amazon FIre

New device for comedy-on-demand service

Comedy-on-demand service NextUp has launched on the Amazon Fire TV Stick.

The  expansion increases the potential exposure for the subscription service, which boasts more than 85 stand-up specials, as the device has more than 38.5 million users in the US alone. It enables any TV to stream content over wifi.

NextUp is now available on the web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Amazon channels and Amazon Fire Stick, with more due to launch later this year.

For £3.50 a month – after a free trial – users can access a catalogue that includes shows from established comics such as Richard Herring and Tommy Tiernan as well as rising stars such as Rachel Parris and Jordan Brookes.

Dan Berg, one of the founders of NextUp, said: ‘We want to share the work of great comedians far and wide and our launch on Amazon Fire TV Stick is a significant step for us, allowing more people to access NextUp in a way that’s convenient for them.

'We’ve got even more device launches in the pipeline and more great specials to release this coming year.’
