TV festival won't clash with Edinburgh Fringe
Dates pushed later as event moves to Manchester
Next year’s TV Festival will NOT clash with the Edinburgh Fringe, as the annual event moves out of the Scottish capital for the first time.
The gathering of broadcasting’s great and good has traditionally been held over the last few days of the Fringe, allowing TV producers to catch the shows that had already built up a considerable buzz.
But with the event moving to Manchester after 50 years, it was feared TV decision-makers may have stayed away from Edinburgh to attend their industry shindig instead.
However, organisers have today announced that the 2027 TV Festival will take place in Versa Studios Manchester and Aviva Studios from Tuesday August 31 to Friday September 3.
The 2027 Edinburgh Fringe ends on the English bank holiday, Monday August 30.
Campbell Glennie, CEO of The TV Festival, said: ‘We are excited by the prospect of evolving the Festival beyond what people have come to expect. With Greater Manchester as our new home, we’re ready to grow and realise the festival’s full potential over the coming years… we have the potential to create a city-wide celebration of the TV and broader creative industries for the next generation.’
