Funboys team launch a video game spin-off show

New YouTube content as Northern Irish comedy returns

The stars of Funboys are launching a video game review show in the guise of their comedy characters.

Ryan Dylan, Rian Lennon, Lee R. James  and Ele McKenzie  reprise their roles of  Callum, Jordan,  Lorcan and Gemma respectively for the BBC spin-off series Fair Game.

They will be joined by American actor  Roger Craig Smith who has voiced Sonic the Hedgehog, Chris Redfield in the Resident Evil series, Ezio Auditore da Firenze in the Assassin's Creed series and Batman in Arkham Origins and Arkham Shadow, among many other roles.

Producers Mayhay Studios say: ‘Expect heated debates, thoughtful insights and expert opinions on things like "is it healthy for people to play life simulators, especially men in their late 20s who haven’t fully matured in adult life?" and "does Herdy Gerdy have better storytelling than the Last of Us Part 2?"’

Fair Game is part of the BBC's strategy to commission content for YouTube  and follows the release of What Have You Done? – a pedalo-based talk show spun off from Things You Should Have Done – earlier this year.

The announcement comes as the first footage is released of Steve Coogan guest starring in the Northern Irish series.

Funboys returns to BBC Northern Ireland and iPlayer on June 15, BBC Three on June 19 and BBC One on June 20.
