Nick Mohammed and Sam Nicoresti were both double winners at the Chortle Awards tonight, supported by Ticketmaster.
Mohammed took home best TV comedian for performances including a stint on BBC’s The Traitors, as well best tour for Show Pony which he performs in the guise of his alter-ego Mr Swallow.
While Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Nicoresti adds to her trophy cabinet with Chortle accolades for best show and breakthrough act.
Edinburgh's best newcomer, Ayoade Bamgboye, won the same award at the Chortles – as voted for by comedy fans based upon a shortlist drawn up by comedy experts.
Other winners included Last One Laughing in the TV category, Catherine Cohen for sketch variety and improv and Johnny White Really-Really, who took the first ever clowning & alternative award. Elf Lyons took the comedians' comedian accolade, as voted by her peers.
Tonight’s ceremony took place at the Comedy Store in London, hosted by Peter Serafinowicz and Ronni Ancona
