Crisis? What cost-of-living crisis?
Dave Chappelle announces London gig, with tickets at £173
Dave Chappelle has announced a last-minute intimate show in London tomorrow night – with tickets priced £173.50.
The comic is playing the 800-capacity O2 Academy Islington, announcing the show with little over 24 hours notice.
Chappelle – who has been embroiled in controversy over material targetting the trans community – played London’s O2 Arena back in September as part of a double-headlining show with Chris Rock.
He has also announced a show at Leicester Square Theatre on Sunday and two at Bush Hall in West London on Monday.
He will be returning to the US later this month to resume that tour, which picks up at the Viejas Arena in San Diego on December 3. Tickets there to see them both – plus a strong supporting line-up – are the equivalent of £135.
The Islington gig is £150, with ticket fees pushing the price up an extra £23.50 – meaning you could get a whole night of top-flight stand-up for the Comedy Store tomorrow for what you pay in ticket fees alone to see Dave Chappelle.
But if you have deep pockets, tickets are available here. Fans are also not allowed to bring any bags bigger than A4 to the gig, and are told their mobile phones will be sealed in a pouch.
The Leicester Square tickets are £152 plus £4 fees and the Bush Hall tickets go on sale at midday today (Friday).
