Alongside his sister Claire Rafferty, who wrote it

Comic Paddy Raff is to appear in a BBC comedy short written and created by his sister, the actress Claire Rafferty.

Both star in Kill Or Be Killed, a 15-minute ‘proof of concept’ pilot to air on BBC Northern Ireland on Wednesday as part of its Green Lit initiative to boost local talent.

Last year’s inaugural scheme produced Rewarding – the new sitcom based in the care system starring comedian Vittorio Angelone and Blue Lights actress Hannah McClean. The six-part sitcom, the comedian’s first major acting role, debuts next Friday, despite fears Angelone’s joke about a rape victim at a Have A Word podcast roast may have derailed it.

Kill Or Be Killed revolves around a working-class West Belfast family’s weekly Sunday lunch ‘where it’s not just the chicken that gets a good roasting’ .

Made by Deadpan Pictures, it airs on BBC One Northern Ireland at 11.10pm on Wednesday, followed by two other successful Green Lit projects: the drama Splendid Mutation, about a Sudanese refugee in Belfast, and crime caper Jawbox.
