Comic loses dance-off

Jayde Adams is out of Strictly Come Dancing.

The comedian tonight became the fourth contestant to leave the BBC competition after a dance-off with Molly Rainford.

After  the pair reprising their performance of the classic Victoria Wood song The Ballad of Barry and Freda (Let's Do It) all four judges opted to save CBBC star Rainford, who danced the Couples' Choice to the Grange Hill theme

Motsi Mabuse said: ‘I thought you were both brilliant. I thought that both performances were better than Saturday night, but I am going to save Molly and Carlos.’

As fourth in line head judge Shirley Ballas did not need to votes, but said: ‘On a little bit more precision and quality of movement, I would have saved Molly and Carlos [Gu, her pro partner].

Speaking about her time on the show, Adams said: ‘This has been the best thing I have ever done in my life and I will carry it to my grave.

‘I’ve done shows before, and nothing holds a candle to the way that this show is run. It is an incredible thing to be a part of as a performer, we are so looked after, and in this industry where so many people aren’t looked after, this show is incredible.

Turning to her dance partner Karen Hauer, she added: ‘It has been an absolute pleasure working with you and learning about so much that will go into my own stuff, in my own work. You are one of the most gifted people I have ever worked with, Karen.’

During Saturday's show, Adams had scored  28 out of 40 for the routine, leaving them ninth out of the 12 couples on the leaderboard, with Mabuse telling Adams she was ‘one of the best’ performers but felt her dance moves needed improving.
