Jason Manford to judge new ITV singing show

Star-studded one-off for Christmas

Jason Manford is to be a judge in a new ITV singing show.

Britain Get Singing is a one-off celebrity format that will pitch groups of stars from TV’s biggest shows against each other.

Manford will be joined on the panel by familiar talent show judges: The Voice UK’s will.i.am, Britain’s Got Talent’s Alesha Dixon and Starstruck’s Adam Lambert. Manford was also a judge on Starstruck – a reinvention of the Stars In Their Eyes format – and has appeared in several stage musicals.

The 90-minute show, which will air over Christmas, will be hosted by Roman Kemp and has a mental health angle.
It is part of the broadcaster’s Britain Get Talking campaign and is described as ‘shining a light on the importance of looking after mental wellbeing by connecting with others’. It will also feature clips in which the stars discuss their experiences with mental  health.

Susie Braun, ITV’s director of social purpose, said Britain Get Singing will have ‘an important message: we can all nurture our mental wellbeing by getting together.’

Richard Cowles, managing director of programme-makers Lifted Entertainment, added: ‘We’re pleased to be working with Britain Get Talking to bring this warm, humour-packed talent show to ITV’s Christmas schedule.’
