Friday Night Dinner's Mr Morris dies at 90

Actor Harry Landis had a 60-year career

Harry Landis, who played Mr Morris in Friday Night Dinner, has died at the age of 90.

His agent has confirmed that the actor – who appeared in three episodes of  the Channel 4 comedy after a long carer – passed away on Monday.

A statement on Facebook read: ‘Sad news. Our lovely client Harry Landis has passed to spirit.

‘Harry had an amazing career and gained a new following in later life as Mr Morris in Friday Night Dinner. It was a privilege to have worked with him as a client. Harry you will be sadly missed. RIP.’

And writing on Twitter, Friday Night Dinner creator Robert Potter saud: ’It is with great sadness that Harry Landis - aka Mr Morris in Friday Night Dinner - has passed away. He was a brilliantly funny, wonderful man. Our greatest guest star.’

Landis also appeared as Felix in 53 episodes of EastEnders

He had 112 credits on IMDB, starting with the pilot episode of Dixon of Dock Green in 1955 and also including  Goodnight Sweetheart, Minder and Casualty.

Landis first appeared in Friday Night Dinner as grandma’s boyfriend in season 2, when he crashed his car into the family home.
