Star comedians raise money to help fight the cancer that claimed his life

Friends of stand-up Phil Jerrod are to stage a major charity gig in his memory.

The line-up for the show in his Brighton hometown includes Romesh Ranganathan, Tom Allen, Seann Walsh, Kerry Godliman, Mark Steel and Angela Barnes.

It will be staged on September 18, just over a year after Jerrod died at the age of 42. He had a form of sarcoma, a rare family of cancers that begins in the bones and soft tissues.

Money raised from the show will go towards  Sarcoma UK that funds research, offers support for those affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.

Carl Donnelly, Joe Foster and  Michael Fabbri will also be performing at the star-studded benefit at Brighton Dome. Tickets went on sale at 10am today and are available here.
