Channel 4 buys Katherine Parkinson comedy Spreadsheet

About a woman seeking sex with no strings attached

Channel 4 has bought the rights to Australian comedy series Spreadsheet, starring Katherine Parkinson as a newly divorced mother seeking sex with No Strings attached.

The eight-part series, Spreadsheet, will launch on Wednesday May 18 at 10pm and will then be available as a boxset on All 4.

She said: ‘It was so much fun filming Spreadsheet in Melbourne with the most brilliant team of people. I loved living Lauren’s hectic life for a few months, and I am thinking about going on dating apps myself now.’

The IT Crowd star plays Lauren with  Rowan Witt as her best friend Alex who helps her devise a database to keep control of her sex life – which involves hook-ups with a string of needy men.

Nick Lee, Channel 4’s head of acquisitions, said: ‘Spreadsheet is a hilarious, risqué comedy which we are thrilled to be showing on Channel 4 and All 4. It has a distinctive, strong voice which we know will really resonate with our audience.’

The cast also includes Robbie Magisiva and Zahra Newman (Neighbours).

Spreadsheet –  which aired on Paramount+ down under last autumn –  was created by Kala Ellis and Darren Ashton, with comic Rhys Nicholson among those in the writing room.
