Book deal for 'TikTok’s funniest comedian'

Hayley Morris's debut out next year

Social media star Hayley Morris – who has been dubbed ‘TikTok’s funniest comedian’ – has landed a book deal.

Century are to publish Me vs Brain: An Overthinker’s Guide To Life in March next year.

The title promised to be ‘a warm and witty commentary on living with intrusive thoughts and anxiety’ written ‘with sparkling humour and unflinching honesty.’

Morris only started her social media channels in January last year, and has already amassed nearly 4 million followers across Instagram and TikTok

She said: ‘I cannot even begin to explain how happy I am to be writing this book.

‘Comedy is a lifelong passion of mine. Since I was young, I have been performing comedy sketches my dad would write for my brother and I. No one would see them but they form some of my favourite childhood memories.

‘When I lost my dad in 2021, I decided I wanted to do everything I could to make him proud. He was an incredible writer and wrote a few books in his time, but sadly he never got round to getting them published.

‘Writing Me Vs Brain is not only a dream come true and something I am so excited about; it is also a tribute to my father and everything he taught me. I hope this book will bring people laughter, but I also hope it will help them to feel more comfortable with themselves and to know they are far from being alone in their overthinking.’

The Sunday Times described her as ‘TikTok’s funniest comedian’ in a feature listing the ‘top faces to know for 2022’ and won content creator of the year category at the Funny Women Awards,

In her sketches she personifies different body parts, enacting the internal dialogues that ping back and forth while navigating the challenges of everyday life. Here’s one about being drunk:

Me Vs Brain is billed as offering commentary on ‘everything from dating to discharge, mental health to menstrual cups with no subject proving too taboo for Morris as she confronts the hilarious (if painful) moments that arise when your brain and body refuse to cooperate.’

It will be published on March 23, 2023, and can be ordered now, priced £14.99 in hardback and £9.99 as an ebook, from Amazon.
