New Netflix special from Aziz Ansari

Nightclub Comedian is platform's first stand-up show of 2022

Netflix has announced a new stand-up special from Aziz Ansari.

The show, Nightclub Comedian, drops on January 25, making it the streaming service’s first new special of the year.

It was filmed last month at ’an intimate surprise gig’ in New York City  – thought to be at the Comedy Cellar.

It will be Ansari’s fourth comedy special for Netflix,  which is also hosts his scripted series Master of None.

His last, Right Now, was released in 2019 and addressed the anonymous accusation made against him the previous year, when a date accused him of sexual misconduct.

The comic said he believed the encounter had been consensual and started the show by saying: ‘I just felt terrible that this person felt this way. And after a year or so, I just hope it was a step forward. It moved things forward for me and made me think about a lot. I hope I’ve become a better person.’
