Ted Danson‘s Netflix comedy to end after third searson

The next series of Ted Danson‘s A Man On The Inside will be the last, Netflix has announced.

Season three of the comedy whodunit will involve the Cheers and Good Place star’s character Charles Nieuwendyk being hired by Coco Van Beck (Bernadette Peters), a San Francisco society queen, to find whoever is trying to sabotage her philanthropic work.

Also joining the cast will be Nick Offerman, playing one of Van Beck’s employees. Offerman previously starred in Parks And Recreation, which was co-created by A Man On The Inside originator Mike Schur.

Schur said: ‘This series began with a retiree taking a chance at a new life. By answering a help-wanted ad and venturing out into the world, Charles Nieuwendyk made his world bigger and proved that life only slows down if you let it. 

‘We are thrilled to be able to conclude his journey with one final chapter, as embodied by the great Ted Danson, who I am legally required to refer to as a "national treasure".’

Returning cast include regulars Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephanie Beatriz and Mary Steenburgen, Danson’s real-life wife.  

Stephen Root, who just won the best supporting actor Emmy for Widow’s Bay, joins as  Charles’s estranged brother.
