Comic in snowman-building contest

Johnny Vegas is to create some gargantuan snow sculptures for Channel 4’s latest reality challenge.

The comedian has been named as one of the contestants in The Greatest Snowman, a one-off to air at 8pm on Christmas Eve.

He will be up against designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, reality star Dani Dyer, baker Liam Charles and TV presenter Cherry Healey.

In the 90-minute show the celebrities are challenged to build incredible structures from tonnes of snow and ice, with the help  world-class ice sculptors, engineers and snow builders  The competition culminates in the stars attempting to construct the greatest snowman.

As previously announced, the programme – filmed in an Alpine resort by South Shore Productions – will be hosted by Sue Perkins.
