Mark Thomas on what it means to be British

The week's best live comedy

The best of the week’s live comedy. These are outdoor and socially-distanced gigs. Check with venues about party size restrictions. Most shows require advance booking.

Sunday October 4

WARWICK: The weather might let you down, but the comedy won’t at the last outdoor gig in the shadow of Warwick Castle, featuring Josh Jones, Rosie Jones, Sean McLoughlin and Travis Jay. The individual tables are all covered, but wrap up! Tickets.

LONDON: Costa Del Tottenham is a great name for a venue, and tonight the bar hosts two comedians you might have seen on Taskmaster - Ed Gamble, and Mark Watson - plus the fast-rising Catherine Bohart.

Tuesday October 6

LONDON: Mark Thomas runs though his new show, 50 Things About Us, at 21 Soho tonight and tomorrow. In it, he picks through the myths, facts and figures of our national identities to reclaim what it really means to be British.

Wednesday October 7

LONDON: The Phoenix Arts Club, beneath the West End theatre of the same name and a post-gig haunt of many a comedian, is hosting a series of socially distanced gigs, despite its intimate setting. Tonight Al Murray and Spitting Image impressionist Luke Kempner do the business.

Friday October 9

NOTTINGHAM: There’s a strong line-up at the Glee this weekend with motormouth Adam Rowe, naively playful Barry Dodds and astute Michael Fabbri alongside grizzled veteran Rich Hall.
