Radio 4 political sitcom returns for a Christmas special

Political sitcom Party is to return for a one-off special, to take on Donald Trump.

Tom Basden, Anna Crilly, Tim Key, Jonny Sweet and Katy Wix will reunite for the Radio 4 comedy, which started life as a play at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival.

Written by Basden, the show revolves around students trying to form their own political party – or as the BBC calls them ‘aspiring political agitators [who] apply their small minds to big problems.’

The radio show originally ran for three series from 2010 to 2012, with a TV pilot shot in 2014, but never broadcast.

The new special will air as part of Radio 4’s Christmas special and  will be recorded at the BBC Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House, Central London, on December 1.

Free audience tickets are available here.
