Glasgow International Comedy Festival announces first acts of 2027

...while registrations to take part are still open

Alan Carr, Fascinating Aïda and Mike Wozniak are among the first acts announced for next year’s Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

Carr, who appeared on Celebrity Traitors last year, plays three nights at the King’s Theatre. Fascinating Aïda also play the King’s, after a tour marking their 40th anniversary.

Also on the bill are two local comics who have won the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award: Susie McCabe and Rosco McClelland.

Other Scottish acts include Connor Burns, Kim Blythe, Mark Black, and  Scot Squad’s Chris Forbes – while Los Angeles comic Morgan Jay plays the SEC Armadillo.

The festival runs from March 10 to 28. It is open access, and acts and venues can register to take part until November 20 at glasgowcomedyfestival.com.

This year’s festival drew 62,000 people to a record 636 shows.

Festival director Krista MacDonald said: ‘2027’s programme is shaping up to be filled with big hitter headline shows, rising stars and, as usual, an abundance of homegrown talent.’
