Benidorm creator announces a reunion tour
Marking 20 years of hit ITV sitcom
Some of the cast of Benidorm are to reunite for a live tour to celebrate the hit ITV comedy.
The sitcom’s writer, creator and director, Derren Litten, will host the events, which promise songs from the show, ‘behind-the-scenes gossip’ and a quiz to test fans’ knowledge with prizes including original costumes from the series.
Those taking part include comedian Crissy Rock, who played Janey Yorke, Asa Elliott, a singer who played himself in two series, Hannah Hobley, who played Chantelle Garvey in the first three series, and Oliver Stokes, who played Michael Garvey. Producers say more names will be announced later.
Litten told fans: ‘Expect stories you have never heard before, listen to cast members discuss clips you know and love, sing along to your favourite songs from the show, ask the cast the questions you want answering, win prizes available nowhere else and prepare yourself for the ultimate Benidorm fan event.’
The reunion tour marks the 20th anniversary of the comedy, which aired for ten series from February 1, 2007 to May 2018. At its peak, it attracted an audience of almost 8million.
A stage version of the show, Benidorm Live! previously toured the UK and Ireland in 2018 and 2019.
Benidorm: The Reunion kicks off at the Watford Colosseum on March 19, with 25 dates initially announced. Tickets go on general sale at noon on Friday.
