...and for Amused Moose award

Hunt for future comedy stars

Entries have opened for the Amused Moose New Comic Award, which has formerly been won by Sarah Millican and Jack Whitehall.

Entrants can send a 90-second clip recorded in a comedy club, or attend one of the qualifying rounds on February Sundays in central London.

Heats and semi-finals will then take place at Amused Moose’s venues in Soho and Kings Cross – with winners decided by a mix of audience votes and industry panels – and the final takes place during the Edinburgh Fringe.

The award does not come with a cash prize, but attracts industry interest – and the winner also gets the chance to appear in a showcase gig at London’s Soho Theatre.  This year the title was won by Nigel Ng.

Full details of how to enter are here.

•  Ben Pope scooped the Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year title on Friday night. Ed Night, formerly known as Ed Day, was second and Daniel Audritt third.
