
Game for a Bafta?
Scottish nominees announced
Mrs Brown’s Boys and Still Game Live are to go up against a Celtic fusion concert for the Scottish Bafta for best comedy entertainment.
The two sitcoms have been nominated alongside Martyn Bennett’s Grit, the broadcast of the opening concert of the 2015 Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow.
In other comedy nominations:
• David Tennant has been shortlisted for best actor in a film for his role in the comedy What We Did On Our Holiday, written by Outnumbered creators Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, which is also up for best feature film
• Mark Bonnar for best TV actor for his role as the deranged Chris in Channel 4’s Catastrophe.
• Sharon Rooney for best TV actress for her role in E4’s comedy-drama My Mad Fat Diary
• CBBC’s The Dog Ate My Homework, presented by stand-up Iain Stirling, for best children’s Programme
• Gordon Anderson for best director, and Tom Edge for best writer, both for Channel 4’s Scrotal Recall.
• Gasping, Greg Hempill’s film starring Frankie Boyle, for best short film.
