Alistair McGowan gets a sporting chance

Panel show pilot for ITV1

Alistair McGowan is to host a pilot for a new prime-time ITV1 sports show, inspired by Harry Hill’s TV Burp.

Hill will even be one of the executive producers on You Cannot Be Serious, which will, like TV Burp, be made by producers Avalon.

McGowan is a dedicated football fan and best known for his Posh and Becks double act with Ronni Ancona, and commentated on Wimbledon for the BBC.

The panel show is seen as a rival to the BBC's A Question of Sport and Sky's A League of Their Own.

The pilot is being recorded in London next week. See our free tickets page to be in the audience.
