Bella Hull is making her first stand-up series for Radio 4.

The news comes as the broadcaster announces a raft of new stand-up specials, plus a series for John Tothill and a two-parter from Scott Bennett.

In Bella Hull’s Guide to More or Less Being Okay, the Saturday Night Live UK writer explores issues affecting Gen Z, from mental health to food, money, sex and love.

She has twice appeared on  Have I Got News For You, and just performed her fourth solo show, Mad Cow Disease, at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Her radio show is being made by Avalon Productions, whose agency arm also represents her 

Meanwhile, John Tothill Forgives Your Sins has been picked up for a series following a successful pilot which aired in May. 

In the show, the comic talks about the kinds of regrets we all have and suggests we should share these confessions so he can absolve us of our sins and celebrate our vices.

Meanwhile, Bennett’s show, One Man Panic Attack, will see the stand-up unpacking his worries about his kids, parents and marriage.

Also announced today are stand-up specials from Vittorio Angelone, Miles Jupp, Desiree Burch, Sophie Garrad, Grace Campbell, Brodi Snook, Toussaint Douglass, Mark Simmons, Christopher MacArthur-Boyd, Nathan D’Arcy Roberts, Will Robbins, Jodie Mitchell, Susie McCabe, James Mullinger, Arabella Weir and Barry Ferns.

Plus a second series for Why In The Name of Pierre Novellie and a tenth series of It’s A Fair Cop, in which policeman turned comedian Alfie Moore leads the audience through real-life police situations.  

Radio 4’s comedy commissioner Julia McKenzie said: ’Radio 4 is passionate about stand-up…. These new series and specials we are announcing today are from an exceptional range of talented comedians, every single one of them distinctive and hilarious, and I am very excited to give them the space to expand their storytelling so we can luxuriate in their use of language as only audio can.’ 

No broadcast dates for any of these shows have yet been announced.

The news comes amid a number of new comedy projects revealed by Radio 4 today, including Richard Curtis’s first sitcom in more than 30 years, a new batch of sketch shows, new pilots from Nish Kumar and Jake Bhardwaj, and a number of returning sitcoms plus a new one based on Paul Longley’s online series The Gossip Couple.
