More Radio 4 commissions

Nish Kumar and Jake Bhardwaj are piloting new shows for Radio 4.

In Utopia, Kumar will be asking comedians and celebrity guests: what if you could redesign the world from scratch? 

It is being made by  Louis Theroux’s production company Mindhouse Studios, whose TV credits include Katie Price: Nothing To Hide and Mo Gilligan’s Big Chicken: A Fast Food Conspiracy.

Meanwhile, Bhardwaj will be harnessing the energy he brings to his cult live show Not Another Quiz Night for a ‘chaotic gameshow’ called So You Want To Play?

Production company Lead Mojo, headed by former BBC radio comedy producer Ed Morrish, say the show involves four comedians being put through a ‘series of devious and ridiculous challenges’

Radio 4 has also today confirmed that two recent quiz pilots have been picked up for full series: Your Number’s Up, the number-based quiz hosted by Max Fosh, and Bookmarks, a literary quiz hosted by Clare Balding.

No broadcast dates for any of the shows has yet been revealed.
