Baftas for Iannucci, Scot Squad and Elaine C Smith

...and for Susan Calman's cancelled BBC show

Armando Iannucci, Scot Squad and Elaine C Smith have all picked up Scottish Baftas.

Susan Calman’s BBC One daytime show Armchair Detectives was also honoured, picking up the award for best entertainment programme, even though it was cancelled after one series.

In a tweet, the comedian said it was ‘rather amazing’ to have won.

Iannucci scooped two Baftas for Death Of Stalin, winning awards for best director and best writer.

Scot Squad, starring Jack Docherty as police chief Cameron Miekelson, picked up the award for best scripted TV show, with Elaine C Smith winning best TV actress for her role as Christine O’Neal in the ensemble comedy Two Doors Down.

After the ceremony, Jude MacLaverty, director of Bafta Scotland, said: ‘It has been a truly incredible evening celebrating the very best of Scottish creative talent.

‘We are thrilled to celebrate the inspiring work that’s being produced in Scotland, and the fact that so much Scottish talent is being recognised internationally in the screen industries. We would like to offer our warmest congratulations to all our worth winners and nominees.’
