The multi-award winning Book Club comes to the British Library with a multi-award winning group of performers. The Book Club mixes all your favourite paragraphs from Mills and Boon, Crab based horror novels, Elvis fan poetry and Cliff Richard autobiographies with xylophones, accordions and lots of guest performers. The guests for this special one off show include Robert Newman, who wrote most of his recent BBC4 show in the British library and much prefers being surrounded by leather binding than the walls of Wembley arena nowadays, If.comedy and BBC comedy award winner Josie Long, Perrier winner Waen Shepherd, another Perrier winner and fine physical interpreter of the romantic poetry of Danielle Steel, Neil Edmond (Martin Whiteof Radio 4’s The Consultants) and musical support from on the accordion, and the xylophone and guitar of The Paper Cuts of Penguin Classics (known also as Helen and Martin). The night will be held together by Time Out award winner Robin Ince.
